Uniqcret is a bilingual (Thai and English) online educational platform serving clinicians, researchers, medical students, and the general public in Thailand and worldwide. The platform is operated by an individual — a Thai medical doctor (MD) and PhD candidate in Clinical Epidemiology, based in Thailand. There is no registered company; references in this policy to "Uniqcret", "we", "us", or "our" mean the operator.

For the purposes of the PDPA, the operator acts as the data controller who determines the purposes and means of processing your personal data. This policy applies to personal data we collect through all of our properties and services, including the blog and article library, our custom medical AI assistants ("Uniqcret's GPTs"), the interactive web apps and statistical visualizers, the online course (coming soon), the shop for digital goods, the user community, and the creative content on the BookShelves.

This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, the lawful bases we rely on, who we share it with, how long we keep it, how we protect it, and the rights you have under the PDPA. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the platform.

We collect personal data that you provide to us directly, data that is generated automatically when you use the platform, and limited data from our service providers. We aim to collect only what we need to operate the services.

How you sign in, and the account data we collect

To become a member you can sign in in one of two ways: (a) sign in with Google (Google OAuth), or (b) sign up directly with an email address, a username, and a password. The data we collect depends on which method you choose.

If you sign in with Google (Google OAuth), Google shares with us a limited set of basic profile information from your Google account, namely:

We use this Google sign-in information solely to create and secure your member account and to sign you in — for example to set up your profile, recognise you when you return, and protect your account. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not use this information for advertising. We only request the basic profile and email scopes needed to sign you in; we do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or other Google data.

If you sign up directly (without Google), we collect the username, email address, and password you provide. Your password is stored only in hashed (encrypted) form — we never store it as plain text and cannot read it.

Subscription, purchase, and billing data

- The subscription plan you choose (for example Web App Full Access, AI Chatbot Supporter, Article Supporter, or Voyager), your subscription status, renewal dates, free-trial status, and cancellations.
- Your one-time purchases and orders, such as digital goods from the shop (code, tools, automations, and "skills") and the one-time book fee.
- Transaction and payment records, such as amounts, dates, currency (Thai Baht), and confirmations.
- Your full payment card or banking details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processors. We do not collect or store your full card numbers ourselves.

Content and communications

- Content you submit to the community for review and possible publication, including posts, text, and any details you include in them.
- Messages you send us, including conversations through the live chat on the website.
- Prompts and inputs you send to our AI assistants (see the section on AI features).

Usage, device, and technical data

- Usage data, such as the pages and articles you view, features you use, and the dates and times of your activity.
- Device and log data, such as your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, and referring pages.
- Approximate location inferred from your IP address (we do not collect precise GPS location).
- Where analytics are used, cookies and similar analytics identifiers (see the section on cookies).

We generally do not seek to collect sensitive personal data (such as health data) from you. Please do not submit sensitive personal data, patient-identifiable information, or confidential clinical data through community posts, chat messages, or AI prompts. If you nonetheless include such data, you do so on your own initiative, and we do not process sensitive personal data on a legitimate-interest basis.

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

- To review, approve, categorize, edit, publish, decline, or remove community submissions. The operator reviews submissions personally and is not obligated to publish any submission.
- To operate our AI features and return responses to your prompts.
- To improve, develop, and secure the platform, including troubleshooting, analytics (where used), and preventing fraud or abuse.
- To communicate with you, including responding to messages, sending service and account notices, and (where permitted) sending updates about the platform.
- To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and lawful requests, and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

4.4. Lawful Bases Under the PDPA

Under the PDPA, we process your personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so. The basis we rely on depends on the purpose:

- Consent: where required, such as for certain cookies and analytics, optional marketing communications, the publication of community content where it is based on your consent, and any processing (including any sensitive personal data) that the PDPA requires consent for. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legitimate interest: to secure and improve the platform, understand how it is used, and prevent fraud and abuse — provided your rights and freedoms are not overridden. We do not rely on legitimate interest to process sensitive personal data.
- Legal obligation: to keep records and comply with applicable laws, tax requirements, and lawful requests from authorities.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, which will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain features.
